TOPSHOP HITLIST

Topshop how I have missed you!

I’m on my way back to the UK in June so I’ve been browsing the Topshop website, seeing what new additions will be added to my ever growing wardrobe. So lets get down to business and talk about my current top 5 items I need, YES NEED in my wardrobe!

Lets start with the white embroidered tee, I have a few tops in this style and I love wearing them with skinny jeans on a casual day or dressed up with wedges at night. The embroidered detail adds feminine touch to the square straight cut.

Jeans at Topshop seem to fit me so well; other brands tend to be perfect on my legs but too big on my bum for example. The issue hundreds of women go through. So naturally when I want to buy a white pair of jeans, where else am I going to go other than Topshop. White is sophisticated and can make an outfit look smart and fashionable. Although with the style of ripped jeans it can also give a more casual appeal.

My wardrobe back home is overflowing with prints and patterns, so why not add just one more little item to the collection? The floaty style and longer length means I can wear it with leggings without revealing too much.

It's confession time .... I have this problem where I buy shoes and only wear them once or twice, don't ask me why. At the time the purchase seemed like a good idea. Although I already own a beautiful pair of white shoes from Topshop,  I’m pretty sure holes are just about to form from excessive wear. So I think this is an appropriate purchase as I know I will wear them until they fall apart. :)

A girl’s wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without a LBD (Little Black Dress). Now before last year you wouldn’t catch me in a fitted dress as I didn’t feel comfortable, but now I more than happy to show off my curvy silhouette in this beautiful midi length dress with cut-outs.

I can’t wait to see what Topshop releases when I’m home in June! What's on your Topshop Hitlist?

TIPS FOR TACKLING THE SUPERMARKET

Before you even think about entering a supermarket, you need a shopping list. Don't go in unarmed, you may regret it! ;)

Since I'm currently doing farm work and living a 20-minute drive away from the supermarket in Margaret River, I'm trying to be prepared as possible. I don't want to go back because I forgot 1 main item like sweet potatoes. Here's a few tips to help you tackle the supermarket.

MAKE A LIST:
As the week goes on I make a list on my phone when I think of something. Although before I buy everything I look at the list once again and make sure all the items will go towards making a meal or snack. I don’t want to be buying items I won’t end up using, especially fresh foods, as I can’t save it for the next week. Farm work is an ideal time for me to save money so I don’t want to be wasting it on items I’m not eating aye!

PLAN:
I plan out my meals for the week and consider any snacks I will need. To save myself money I tend to have the same meal for 3 days in a row as I make it in bulk. Doing this means I have to ensure that I’ve got all the main food groups included. For example this week I made chicken & veg in a homemade sauce and sweet potato.

REMEMBER TO EAT:
One thing I always have to remember to do is EAT before going grocery shopping! The worse thing you can do is go into a supermarket hungry, this makes everything seem like a good idea and you can come out with 3 chocolate bars and 4 bags of crisps. If you’re in a rush pick up something easy to carry and eat like an apple or some rice crackers to avoid making unwanted and unneeded purchases your waistline will later regret!

CONSIDER THE AISLES YOU NEED:
Another tip that prevents me from buying the unhealthy choices is only going to the aisles I need. Everything is signposted at the top so no more using that excuse “I didn’t know which aisle the fruit was down” as my mother has said on several occasions. If you go up and down every aisle you’re only teasing yourself of all the wrong foods and this could end up yet again with you walking out the shop with 5 chocolate bars etc. Save yourself the pressure and avoid these aisles!
KEEP YOURSELF MOTIVATED:
I believe for a healthy lifestyle, inspiration is key! I keep inspirational images everywhere I can, on my bedroom wall, on the fridge and even on my phone for on the go inspiration when I need it. So, if I somehow end up down the chocolate aisle I look my ideal body I’m working towards on my phone and step away from the chocolate.

Stay motivated and don’t give into temptations. You can do this!

I hope this has helped you with your supermarket struggles :)

RAINBOW SPIRAL TIE DYE TUTORIAL

What better way to get ready for Mardi Gras (Gay Pride) than to Tie Dye my own outfit!
I will be showing you how to do a spiral tie dye using 3 colours to create 6!

Step 1: Cover the floor, table whatever surface you are using, there is nothing worse than having dye on your new wooden floors.
Step 2: Prepare your colours, all fabric dyes will be different. I've got liquid ones which you mix with water, I didn't want to spend extra money on bottles so I used old water bottles! Anyway to save money while travelling :)
Step 3: Soak t-shirt in water for 5-10 minutes. Some tutorials I've seen don't soak the shirt before applying the dye but with the liquid dyes I used, you have to otherwise it will run straight off the fabric.
Step 4: Lay t-shirt out flat, pinch the middle point (or where you want the spiral to start) with 2 fingers and twist clockwise or anti clockwise it doesn't make a different :)
Step 5: Put elastic bands around the shirt and apply colours overlaying each section starting with the lightest colour. Wrap in cling film and leave to set up to 24 hours.

Step 6: Hand wash to remove excess dye then wash in washing machine on its own (Just incase colours run).
Step 7: Finished! - Well done you have now made a rainbow spiral tie dye shirt!
There are so many styles of tie dye you can do, you just need to have fun and experiment with colours and different effects you can create. After our first attempt went so well myself and my friend Loz decided to try a couple of other styles :)

LULULEMON ATHLETICA

If you're lucky tank: $69 // If you're lucky crop $109 // If you're lucky long sleeve tee $95 // If you're lucky bra $59 // Yoga party pants $129

I discovered Lululemon when I was travelling in New Zealand. I met some Canadian girls who introduced me to the brand. I instantly loved the look and feel of the brand and even made a cheeky little purchase!

So when I find a brand I like, I browse whenever I can. I love browsing the website because I can do it from the comfort of my own home, well my friends sofa since I'm currently living with her! Sometimes I like to get over my vampirism and venture outside to explore the products in person, to try them on and get a feel for the fabrics. Luckily I'm still living in beautiful Australia and Sydney has a big store!

If you're lucky tank: Let's start with the tank, I love the style with mesh cutouts and the basic straight cut but the top is very low on the bust so a vest is needed underneath.

If you're lucky crop: The amazing patterned crops fitted beautifully as they were made from the Luxtreme (TM to Lululemon), a breathable and durable material which provides great support. Definitely on my wishlist :)

If you're lucky long sleeve: Loved the style, concept and fit of the white long sleeve tee but I didn't love the swim material used so I had to veto this one.

If you're lucky bra: Right so let's talk about the sports bra, I couldn't believe how poorly this product fitted. It squished my bust and looked extremely unflattering. When I spoke to the sales assistant she said they have had similar feedback from other customers. Hopefully they will be sorting this issue out before next season!

Yoga party pants: These trousers fit really well just skimming the body. I can wear them casually and smartly, perfect multi-functional piece to have my my wardrobe.

If you've never explored the brand, take a look on there website :)

NEW ZEALAND TO DO LIST

New Zealand is truly breathtakingly beautiful and I'm so happy I made that spur of the moment decision on a Friday afternoon to just book it and go!

There is so much to see and do in New Zealand its hard to decide what to do first!

BUNGY in QUEENSTOWN
Hi my name is Kimberly and I am an adrenaline junkie! I loved the thrill and experience of throwing myself off a platform 200-400 metres above the floor. I loved it that much I did 3 bungy jumps, the Nevis 134m and 2 off the ledge bungy only 47m bungy but hoovering 400m above Queenstown. What an incredible experience that I think everyone should do when visiting New Zealand.
GLACIER WALK in FRANZ JOSEF
This was definitely on my list of things to do, I mean how often would I get the opportunity to walk on Glaciers?!?
SKYDIVE in FRANZ JOSEF
Franz Josef was a beautiful place to do a skydive because of the amazing scenery. At 19,000ft we had to have oxygen going up in the plane. I wasn't nervous at all and was happy to jump without hesitation, with a 80 second free-fall I had time to admire the incredible view.
MAORI VILLAGE in ROTORUA
This overnight stay was an amazing experience. It gave me a chance to learn about the culture of the Maori tribes. Yes I do have to admit it is very commercial, but still worth the trip.
Stick games are so much fun.
SNACKS
Lets learn a song!
I removed the green from the leaf to create this string which was added to a braided rope that loads of people from all around the world have also added too.
When in ROME, do what the natives do!
Getting involved with the games!
LUGING in QUEENSTOWN
This reminded me of my childhood and when I had a go-cart. Yes luging was a tad different, a lot more fun! We went with 8 of us and it got very competitive!

FERGBURGER
Last but not least when in Queenstown you've got to have a FERGBURGER! Enough said :)

If you haven't already, book a flight and get yourself to New Zealand!!
