A LITTLE BIT OF SPARKLE

Christmas and New Year may be over but I still love to add some sparkle into my wardrobe. These beautiful gold leggings were a spur of the moment purchase from the Next sale, aren't they just amazing!? For some strange reason I agreed to go to the boxing day sale with my friend, yes I'm one of those idiots queuing up at 5am. Although, this year it paid off because I managed to get a few great purchases including these leggings.

Over the last few seasons cold shoulder tops have been all the rage, I love this trend and was incredibly happy when it appeared again for winter this year. River Island has been my favourite place to shop for these tops and they didn't disappoint this time. Before Christmas, I popped in and purchased this asymmetric black cold shoulder top for £22, not a bad deal if you ask me!

Every year I purchase a staple pair of black chelsea boots, normally I would get them from Dorothy Perkins, although this year they didn't feel right. I was scrambling around wondering where I would get some from when I came across these faux suede boots from New Look. I wear them pretty much everyday so its well worth the purchase.

I love this outfit, its simple yet so beautiful. It's got a little glitz and glam combined with the basic black pieces, the perfect outfit for day-to-day or pop on some heels for a nighttime look.

THE OLIVE TOP

Autumn has set in! Time to say goodbye to sundresses and hello to layers and boots. This time of year is great, the air is crisp and the trees are filled with burnt orange and red leaves. Although Summer is my favourite season I do enjoy snuggling up in my long sleeve jumpers and wearing autumn colours. I recently went on a little shopping spree in River Island, they had 25% off (with a voucher from Elle) so I couldn't resist buying something new. I brought this beautiful olive green top that looks great for work or a casual day and is the perfect addition to my autumn wardrobe. I also invested in some new Molly black jeans, a staple piece everyone needs in their wardrobe. These jeans are so comfortable and fit perfectly.

The boots are an old piece from my sisters wardrobe, I don't wear a lot of heeled boots I would normally be wearing my flat Chelsea boots but these are great for a change! My leather jacket is Topshop purchase from the past, I brought this about 4 years ago and I always look forward to showing it off when autumn hits.

SUMMER FLORALS

I've said this many times before the English "summer days" are few and far between, but when we do get a nice day its great to take advantage and throw on a pretty floral dress. This day in particular was not one of those "summer days" and begin to rain as soon as we reached the car! It was amazing while the decent weather lasted though.

This sundress is a favourite of mine for a few reasons, I purchased it in Australia and have worn it on so many occasions. The scuba material is great as it doesn't need to be ironed and can be folded or scrunched into the tiniest places and still be wearable. This is an amazing feature especially if you're travelling around. Another incredible thing about this dress is I don't need to wear a bra, I'm sure you'll appreciate this is a great feeling!

You need staple pieces in your wardrobe to wear with bold or patterned items and summer would be nothing without my Birkenstocks, these beauts are so comfortable and easy to wear. They're a versatile piece to own and if you haven't already I would suggest you invest in a pair.

SPORTY STYLE

We're meant to be experiencing summer, although England has a funny way of showing it, the weather has been all over the place. The problem with unpredictable weather is figuring out what to wear, it's too warm for a coat yet too cold for bare legs. For now, I'll stick to leggings and layers until I can break out the sundresses.

Recently I've loved the sporty look and these leggings are the definition of sporty in my opinion, combining them with this waistcoat creates the perfect sporty-causal look. Maybe I'm attracted to this style because I want to feel like I'm a fitness fanatic ... don't get me wrong I would love to be but I don't think I'm there just yet. Sometimes I feel like I've taken the "sporty look" too far when I'm wearing my Yoga leggings on a day-to-day basis, you have to admit they are super comfy and stylish so I don't see why it isn't sociably acceptable.

The highstreet is fully stocked with all your sporty must-haves. River Island has some of the best pieces in my opinion, maybe I'm basis because it's one of my favourite retailers but definitely worth a sneaky look.

SPRING STYLE

Spring has officially sprung, beautiful flowers are in bloom and I've seen more than 3 days of sunshine. For England this is an unexpected bliss. It's an amazing feeling leaving the house without my winter warmers, I can finally dust of those pretty crochet tops and break out the powder blue jeans. I've been waiting months to do just that, the sun was shining and I could see blue skies all around. I'll admit a cardigan or blazer would have been beneficial with the slight breeze but still a beautiful spring day.

One trend I'm happy is here once again is the cold shoulder pieces. I purchased this little beauty from  River Island just last week and it's perfect for Spring. I'm so excited the weather is improving, although that means summer is around the corner and I need to get my bikini body ready!

Outfit details

Khaki Jamie Jeans: Topshop £40
Black Sandals: Birkenstocks £54.95

Cancer is a subject very few of us like to talk about, mainly because it can make people uncomfortable. At the end of the day the sad truth is that we all either know someone directly or through another person who is currently or has been affected by Cancer. One of my colleagues at work was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer last year but is fighting back and raising awareness!

GRL PWR was set up as a none profit business to raise awareness and fundraise money for Ovarian Cancer. You can help support this cause by purchasing one of these awesome GRL PWR Tee's for £15, for those of you who isn't a tee kind of gal there's also a razor back vest in black. All proceeds will be donated to the charity, so far these amazing GRL PWR Girls have raised hundreds for this cause! Wow, that's going to make a huge impact in research funding to help discover ways to better manage and treat Ovarian Cancer!

Show your support and order your very own tee by sending a private message through the GRL PWR Facebook page. Make sure you hashtag #GRLPWR on Instagram (& tag gpwr) and Facebook so the gang know you're sharing the love and showing your support. The Girls have been very busy and have already sold out of the first batch, but don't you worry more stock will be arriving soon!

Please share this post and help raise awareness!

Sincerely, Kimberly.

APRIL WISHLIST

Spring has sprung, the time has come to dust off your sundress and show shades of pastel and pretty floral prints. Although on a "beautiful" rainy English Spring day like today I think jeans would be more suited!

It's been a while since I've been shopping, when I started scrolling through the big wide web I found 110 pieces that would fit perfectly into my ever growing wardrobe. Since I'm not a millionaire nor do I foresee someone dropping a big cheque at my doorstep, I've had to narrow down my list to the following 8 pieces.

Spring is a great time to introduce colour back into your wardrobe, whether its a flash of colour like on the shirt dress or go all out with the green jumpsuit. Colour livens up your wardrobe which is exactly what is needed, especially after months of wearing black or navy for the winter months.

The khaki jeans shouldn't really appear on my April Wishlist considering I already purchased them last week, but I love the colour and think everyone should add some khaki into their wardrobe as it's a key colour this season. Combining the jeans with a lace/crochet white top lightens up and brings a feminine touch to the look. Wouldn't you agree?

Every year I'll purchase a staple pair of flat sandals, they're easy to wear, fashionable and comfortable. The only question is do I choose brown or black this year? Decision, decisions ...

COSY KNITS

There's no better feeling when there's a chill in the air than staying cosy in a winter knit. I recently purchased this beautiful cable knit jumper from H&M and it was the best decision. Knitwear is effortless to throw a chic and stylish outfit together. These are versatile stable pieces to take you through the colder months of the year. Most people would say winter is a time for darker colours but I'm a firm believer of light and bright all year round!

During the winter months my style tends to follow a certain pattern, knitwear, chunky scarves and leggings with the occasional dress thrown in!

SIMPLE AND CHIC

Winter in England sometimes doesn't seem that cold, we may not experience snow that often but on the plus side we can walk the streets in our Autumn clothing. Today was one of those mild Autumn days!

I usual go for bold prints and colours but recently I've been toning it down. Styling an outfit simply is so chic and effortless! Today I kept it simple with my new long sleeve crop top from H&M and suede skirt. Accessorised with my trusty Cambridge Satchel and beautiful rose gold necklace, it's the perfect outfit!

Unfortunately I couldn't find my H&M black top and rose gold necklace online but I know they are available in-store!

Sincerely, Kimberly.
